Three Times More Fun
Ever found a site that made you wish you had an award to give? Of course you have ... and now you do ... this one! No kidding, all you have to do is save it by doing the right click thing. If you don't know what I mean, you aren't ready yet. I am not trying to be mysterious, you need a little more experience cruisin' - read on please. You've seen sites display their awards, somebody had to give them out. It's a kick - lots more fun than just signing a guestbook or sending a note - for you and the recipient. Ok, so who died and left me in charge? Oh gawd, I can already hear it from the pompous. Quite frankly, I am sick of most of the attitudes I've been running across lately. Certain people have become confused about what the game is all about. Hey, awards are cool, who doesn't want their work recognized? I was so tickled when my first one arrived, I had to call Bubba at work. Then the inevitable kicked in - I wanted them all. There are plenty out there too including the "gimmes" - some of them are absolutely hysterical BTW. Only one problem, the gimme givers don't (usually) hold up their end of the deal. Awards are links. In my humble, albeit somewhat experienced opinion, links are one of the best forms of advertising going. Anytime I find a site I like, I check links - simple logic, based on taste similarity. Conscientious, fair-minded award givers maintain lists of awardees, often including brief reviews. The others don't. Therein lies the bug-a-b00. Space on any server is limited, graphics eat up a lot of room - I can't "afford" to give it away without the courtesy of a reciprocal link. I weeded out the freeloaders after learning that lesson. OOOpsy - that pompous outcry is getting louder - a little taste of ye own medicine will do that. What about rules? You have to have a list of qualifications and you have to sign the guestbook and you have to ... Oh puh-leeze. There are no rules here. For one thing, there's no way to "police" the deal. I wouldn't be thrilled to find the thing displayed on a garbage site. No one sticks around long enuf to read junk anyway, so I don't see a whole lot to worry about. This is for spreading a little good cheer, a pat on the back - have fun with it. Let me know who you gave it to (including yourself) and I'll add the site to the list as soon as I have a chance to check it out. Note to recipients: Please be patient if you are not listed right away, I do get behind. Mail doesn't always reach me either. A reminder will not offend me. or (just in case) While you're on reconnaissance, keep an eye out for Less-than-Fiver (ingredients) recipes for the LTF Tags and critter auto-bios for Lib's Paws and Claws on the Keyboard Award too. Buster is now offering his da Dude Award for critters and people who "dude" a great page. Muddy Good Show was created for toe-wiggling interesting content in newsletters and is also available for pages. See The Right Royal Piggin' Awards link below for recipe pages. If you have a pic that would make a neat award, send it with a caption - I'll see what I can do with it as soon as possible. To find out why those cats happened to be wearing pajamas, go to Cats PJs. After using the pic for Lib's Best Friends Gallery, it hit me to use it when the two awards above weren't appropriate. Photographer Jill was nice enuf to give me permission to do whatever I wanted. Hard to tell what I may came up with next ... I'm also extremely irritated with the snotty disposition found on certain "free" graphic sites ... 'nuf said. Hit your back button to resume your travels - don't forget to bookmark this page. awards?
Lookee - winners! The list is a combination. Some people requested the award, others are pages I, or someone else, just liked for whatever reason (some chose to display the award and link back, others didn't - no matter) and of course for some of the cats' pages, this one instead of one of the dogs' awards "fit" better - cats will be cats :).
